Terms & Conditions
All orders are subject to approval by Lewis's Medical Supplies. The following terms and conditions are applicable to all orders except instances where official written arrangements have been approved between the purchaser and Lewis's Medical Supplies.
2. Credit & Payment Terms
Payment is strictly nett 30 days. Payment before despatch of goods will be required in situations where Lewis's Medical Supplies is unable to offer credit. Credit may be subject to status and is strictly by arrangement.
Discounts are provided for payment within 30 days only. Any accounts not paid after this period will forfeit the discount. All products listed in Section Z are nett price with no discount given.
All prices quoted are exclusive of VAT. All prices are correct at the time of printing although we stock items from numerous manufacturers and due to daily fluctuations reserve the right to amend prices without notice.
4.2 Set Off
All invoices must be paid in full and the purchaser shall have no right of set-off.
4.3 Delivery & Liability
Lewis's Medical Supplies shall not be liable for any occurrence of damage or loss as a result of cancelled or belated deliveries. It is a requirement that Lewis's Medical Supplies are informed of any non-deliveries within 14 days of the date of the Lewis's Medical Supplies invoice.
4.4 Specifications and Substitution
All product specifications present within the catalogue or separately are only to be used as a guide and no assurance can be provided that the goods supplied will conform in complete detail to either the illustration or the description. Without prior notification, Lewis's Medical Supplies reserve the right to withdraw goods from sale, revise specifications or offer an alternative product.
Goods can only be returned to us for credit by arrangement. All goods must be returned in the original packaging and in a resalable condition. Before returning any goods please telephone, fax or email Lewis's Medical Supplies to acquire a returns authorisation number. The purchaser will bear the cost of returning any goods or an additional carriage charge will be levied. Any items that qualify for return are subject to a 15% restocking charge.
Return of Non-defective product
Refrigerated medicines - non-returnable
Non-refrigerated medicines - return notified within 24 hours of receipt and returned with packaging fully intact within 5 working days.
Sterile medical devices - return notified within 5 working days of receipt and returned with packaging fully intact within 10 working days.
Bespoke items or special orders - non-returnable as specifically made for an organisation and therefore unable to be sold to anyone else.
4.5.1 Refund Policy for Non-Business Customers
In addition to the point above and in compliance with the Distance Selling Regulations non-business customers can return their goods following the guidelines detailed above within 7 working days for a refund. This refund will not include a 15% restocking charge.
All goods must be inspected immediately upon delivery and when signing for a delivery any damage or incomplete deliveries should be noted on the carrier's paperwork. No claims can be addressed for damage or deficiency unless our sales office is notified within the times specified:
Non-delivery - notification required within 14 days from date of invoice.
Damage or deficiency - notification required within 48 hours of receipt of goods.
All offers are made at the exclusive discretion of Lewis's Medical Supplies who reserve the right to refuse qualification without recourse.
4.8 Property & Risk
All goods remain the property of Lewis's Medical Supplies until paid for in full. All risk associated with goods is transferred to the purchaser upon conclusion of delivery.
Lewis's Medical Supplies profess no specific knowledge of the appropriateness of any product for a particular task or purpose. All products are sold with the prior understanding that the buyer will have conclusively tested, through actual usage, and determined whether the product in question is wholly suitable for its particular purpose.
Any samples requested will be charged at the price listed. The samples will be included as part of any subsequent order, if accepted.
5. Data Protection
In accordance with the Data Protection Act any information regarding a purchaser will be held by Lewis's Medical Supplies and could be used for the purposes of market research. Such information may then be issued to relevant external organisations who may in turn make contact with the purchaser for marketing purposes. Purchasers who do not wish to be approached by external organisations should notify through verbal or written means when placing an order.
Any information supplied by Lewis's Medical Supplies in electronic, printed or other form is subject to copyright. Without prior written consent from Lewis's Medical Supplies reproduction or redistribution of these materials is prohibited.
7. Recording Of Calls
Calls may be recorded or monitored for training purposes.
8. Governing Law
The sale of goods and services under these terms and conditions are governed by the Laws of England and Wales and any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
9. Carriage charges
9.1 Standard delivery Service
Carriage is charged all orders under £100 nett value excluding discount.

Orders over £100 nett value excluding discount qualify for free delivery on this service.
These charges apply for U.K. mainland (excluding some parts of Scotland) delivery only, for all other deliveries please telephone for details.
9.2 Next day delivery
Next day delivery service is available for stock items only and is charged at cost. Orders must be received before 2pm to be dispatched on this service.
9.3 Oversize and Overweight Items
A number of items are oversize and overweight for our standard delivery service - typically medical equipment, furniture, and stretchers.
Carriage charged at cost regardless of the value of the item. These items delivered to UK mainland only.
10. Alternative Dispute Resolution
As a British Healthcare Trades Association member Lewis's Medical Supplies are signed up to their Code of Practice and are a willing participant in the BHTA's complaints mediation and arbitration process. If we have exhausted our Complaints procedure and you, as the Customer, are still not happy, we will give you the contact details of the BHTA so you may approach them for mediation. If you should do this we will fully participate in the mediation process.
